Proud to Stand Behind the Clinical Trial Modernization Act – NFCR

National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) shared American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN)’s post on LinkedIn, adding:

“NFCR is proud to be one of nearly 200 organizations standing behind the Clinical Trial Modernization Act. Clinical trials drive the discoveries that become tomorrow’s standard of care — but cost and distance too often keep patients, especially those in underserved and rural communities, from ever enrolling.

This bill takes real steps to close that gap, and we’re glad to support it alongside so many partners across the patient advocacy and research community.”

Quoting American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN)’s post:

“Nearly 200 patient advocacy, public health, and health care professional organizations, including ACS CAN, sent a letter to the Senate declaring their strong support for the Clinical Trial Modernization Act.

This bipartisan legislation would help remove cost and geographic barriers that keep patients from enrolling and participating in clinical trials.

‘Clinical trials are essential to advancing new standards of care and improving survival and quality of life for people with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.’ The bill provisions will ‘help reduce bureaucratic and financial barriers to participation, increase accessibility to clinical trials, and ultimately strengthen U.S. leadership in medical innovation. By improving enrollment, the legislation will accelerate the development of new treatments, benefiting both trial participants and the broader public.'”
