New Therapies for Colorectal Cancer Through Translational Research – NFCR

National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and the conversation has never been more urgent.

Colorectal cancer is no longer just a disease that affects older adults. 1 in 5 people diagnosed with colorectal cancer today is under age 55, and it has become the leading cause of cancer-related death among young adults.

Among adults ages 20 to 49, cases rose 3% each year between 2013 and 2022, even as rates in older populations declined.

That’s exactly why the research NFCR funds matters so much. From targeting a protein found in over 50% of cancers to developing a botanical drug that enhances chemotherapy and immunotherapy, NFCR-funded scientists are working to push new treatments from the lab into clinical trials, and toward real patients.

See what NFCR’s translational research is making possible.

This month, consider supporting the scientists working to turn today’s discoveries into tomorrow’s treatments. Donate at.”
