Neil Iyengar: The Evolving Evidence on Weight Loss Interventions in Breast Cancer

Neil Iyengar, Co-Director of Breast Oncology and Director of Cancer Survivorship at Emory University, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Two weeks ago, I was at McCormick Place in Chicago for ASCO2026 discussing the latest advances in cancer care. This Sunday, I’ll be back in the very same convention center, this time at ENDO2026, to speak about obesity, weight loss, and breast cancer.

It’s fitting that these conversations are happening under the same roof. For years, oncology and endocrinology have largely traveled parallel paths. Those paths are increasingly converging as we recognize the profound impact of metabolism on cancer risk, outcomes, survivorship, and treatment response. The field of metabo-oncology is creating exciting opportunities for collaboration across disciplines.

I’ll be discussing the evolving evidence from clinical weight loss interventions in breast cancer, including dietary strategies, exercise interventions, GLP-1 receptor agonists, and emerging metabolic therapeutics with anti-cancer effects.

If you’re attending ENDO2026, I hope you’ll join us for what should be a fascinating discussion on obesity and cancer.

 ENDO 2026
McCormick Place, Chicago
Sunday, June 14 | 4:30 PM.”
