Neeraj Agarwal, Co-Director of Prostate Cancer Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, shared on X:

“Huge congrats to Drs. Elisabeth Heath and Emmanuel Antonarakis on the new Mayo/UMN  Prostate Cancer SPORE grant from NCI DCTD!

A well-deserved recognition of your leadership and a major step forward for mCRPC/APMR precision Rx research.

About the Mayo Clinic/University of Minnesota Prostate Cancer SPORE

The Mayo Clinic–University of Minnesota Prostate Cancer SPORE, led by Drs. Elisabeth Heath, Emmanuel Antonarakis, Josep Domingo-Domenech, and Scott Dehm, is a comprehensive collaborative research initiative uniting experts across major NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers to accelerate the translation of laboratory discoveries into clinical applications.

Operating under a multidisciplinary framework, the program encompasses four distinct translational research projects supported by career enhancement and developmental programs, institutional matching funds, and dedicated research space.

To ensure high-impact results, the SPORE is backed by specialized integrated cores focusing on administration, biospecimen and pathology, and biostatistics and bioinformatics, with the ultimate goal of reducing morbidity and mortality from metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Furthermore, the initiative actively funds pilot studies, trains early-stage scientists through expert mentorship, and fosters robust institutional collaborations to advance precision diagnostics and targeted therapies for patients.
