“Join the NCI Rising Scholars Cancer Research Seminar Series!

  • July 16, 2026
  • 12:30–1:30 PM EDT
  • Virtual Event

We’re excited to feature Lisa K. Poppe, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Cancer Research, National Cancer Institute, who will present:
Combination of HDAC Inhibition and Cytokine Enhances Therapeutic HPV Vaccine Therapy

This seminar will highlight promising preclinical research demonstrating how combining a human papillomavirus (HPV) therapeutic vaccine against HPV16 with NHS-IL12 and the histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor entinostat can significantly enhance anti-tumor immune responses and improve survival in models of HPV-associated cancers. The findings offer important insights into developing more effective immunotherapeutic strategies for patients with advanced HPV16-associated malignancies.

Why attend?

  • Learn about innovative approaches to overcoming resistance in HPV-associated cancers
  • Explore cutting-edge immunotherapy and tumor microenvironment research
  • Engage with emerging cancer researchers and the NCI scientific community
