Representing the Nation’s Cancer Research Community in a National Roundtable Discussion – NCI

National Cancer Institute (NCI) shared The National Institutes of Health’s post on LinkedIn, adding:

“Earlier this week, NCI Director Dr. Anthony Letai represented the nation’s cancer research community in a national roundtable discussion focused on the new HHS department-wide effort to strengthen America’s leadership in clinical trials and bring new innovative health therapies to patients faster.

NCI enthusiastically supports this effort and will work with our cancer research partners to advance rigorous, efficient, and patient-centered clinical research that delivers new cancer treatments to those who need them most.”

Quoting The National Institutes of Health’s post:

“Too often, clinical trials are delayed, struggle to enroll participants, or fail to answer the questions they were designed to address.

In response, HHS officials have reaffirmed America’s commitment to remaining the global leader in biomedical research by fostering a clinical trial enterprise that is faster, more efficient, and more effective.

As part of this effort, NIH is working to strengthen clinical trial protocols while maintaining the highest standards of scientific rigor, participant safety, and ethics.”
