Nazik Hammad: Excited to Join OncoCorridor’s Launch as a Speaker and Moderator

Nazik Hammad, Medical Oncologist and professor at St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto, shared CancerWorld’s post on LinkedIn, adding:

“Excited to be joining this launch tomorrow as a speaker and moderator. Time to optimize existing corridors and open new ones to access cancer treatment for cancer-affected populations in Africa.

The arduous journey that a 23 year old young man embarks upon from the conflict-ravaged Niala in Darfur, Sudan to Kampala in Uganda to get treatment for his locally advanced and painfully symptomatuc nasopharyngeal carcinoma could be made much easier if all that is available already can be optimized from community support to regional solidarity and enhanced through targeted actions to address cancer care needs if conflict-populations in Africa.

Cancer must be recognized as a major health threat in LMICs and those who get cancer while they are in conflict zones should not be left behind.”

Quoting CancerWorld’s post:

“When war closes doors, we must open corridors.
