Nazik Hammad Chairs ASCO Session on Cancer Care in Crisis and Immigrant Populations

Nazik Hammad, Medical Oncologist and Professor at St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Honoured to be chairing the educational session ‘Cancer Care in Times of Crisis and in Immigrant and Displaced Populations‘ at the Annual meeting of ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) on May 29 in Chicago.

Please see program and speakers. I will be discussing Cancer Control in Conflict Zones in Africa drawing on our work in the AORTIC SIG for Cancer in Conflict Zones and Emergency Settings in Africa.

My colleagues, Dr Manali Patel will be discussing cancer during natural disasters and Dr Patricia Santos will be discussing cancer care in immigrant populations. Looking forward to a robust discussion on systemic barriers and practical solutions to maintain cancer control and treatment continuity. Hope to see you there.”
