Nazanin Alemzadeh: A Rare Journey From AML to Solid Tumors Ending in Complete Remission

Nazanin Alemzadeh, Medical Doctor at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Excited to share our latest publication in Clinical Case Reports.

“From Leukemia to Solid Tumors: Successful Multidisciplinary Management of Three Distinct Primary Cancers in a Single Patient”

This case follows a 41-year-old man who developed three independent primary malignancies over seven yearsacute myeloid leukemia, male breast cancer, and metastatic colorectal cancer — and achieved complete remission of all three.

The broader message: patients with multiple primary malignancies should not be defaulted to palliative approaches. With individualized, multidisciplinary planning, curative intent remains achievable — even in the most complex sequential presentations.

Deep gratitude to my co-authors Abolfazl Khalafi-Nezhad, Mohammad Hossein Anbardar, and Zahra Ghanbarinasab, and to our patient for trusting us with his story.
