
Collaborative Engagement with St. Francis Hospital Strengthens National Cancer Registry – National Cancer Institute of Kenya

“Mr. Hillary Chang’wony, Nairobi County Cancer Registrar representing the National Cancer Institute of Kenya (NCI-K), visited St. Francis Community Hospital for a productive meeting on Friday, focusing on enhancing cancer data abstraction and reporting. Hosted by CEO Sr. Mary Rita, the discussion centred on the hospital’s collaboration with NCI-K’s NaCaRe-ke system.
The meeting brought together key hospital leaders and oncology specialists, including Administrator Mr. Geoffrey Ingisa, Oncology Head Catherine Ruita and her assistant Mercy Jemurgor, Oncology Clinician George Ondera, and Cancer Registrar Margaret Muinde. This collaborative group explored how accurate and timely data reporting is crucial for improving patient care at the facility. The successful engagement highlighted the hospital’s commitment to utilizing data-driven insights to better serve its patients and contribute to the national cancer registry.”
