Nathalie Ibrahim: Competence Has No Gender Reflections from the Women Academy Days

Nathalie Ibrahim, Medical Oncologist at Centre Hospitalier de Calais shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I had the honor of attending the ‘Women Academy‘ days for the first time, where the participants and speakers were all women.

These days proved a fundamental truth:

  • Competence has no gender.
  • Compassion is not a sign of weakness.
  • Women’s place in medical decision-making is not only legitimate, but essential.

Seeing these experts share their knowledge, discuss complex cases with collective intelligence, and dare to address specific topics (such as the impact of treatments on female sexuality) reminded me why it is crucial to create these spaces.

This isn’t about exclusivity; it’s about visibility.

This isn’t about rejecting men. It’s about empowering women.

I thank Geraldine PIGNOT, Mireille Saliba, Bristol Myers Squibb, the scientific committee and all these women doctors, surgeons and researchers who are breaking the glass ceiling, one cancer at a time.”
