“Another exciting day at AAPM 2026! Proud to see three Stanford Radiation Oncology presentations featured in the Therapy Physics Scientific Session ‘Enhancing Everyday Clinical Practice highlighting innovations that are making advanced radiotherapy more efficient, accessible, and clinically impactful.

Bin Han Ph.D, DABR presented ‘Technical Implementation and Commissioning of an Ergonomic Lying-on-Couch Total Skin Electron Irradiation Technique describing a patient-centered TSEI technique designed to improve comfort while maintaining high-quality treatment delivery.

Yong Yang presented ‘Benchmarking a New Paradigm: Commissioning and Validation of the First Ultra-Compact Upright Proton Therapy System’ reporting the commissioning and validation of the novel upright proton therapy platform with the potential to transform proton treatment delivery and lower the cost.

I presented Automated VMAT Planning across TBI, CSI, and TMLI: Streamlining Workflow and Enhancing Dosimetric Quality showcasing a unified, open-source automation framework that improves efficiency, consistency, and plan quality for some of the most complex radiation therapy techniques.
