“Help Ukraine Group – Achievements and Plans For 2026

In partnership with American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), American Brachytherapy Society, Rayos Contra Cancer – RCC, PNNL, Swecare, oncoHUB Office, Limbus AI, Radformation, RaySearch Laboratories, Varian, Elekta, Orfit, CIVCO Medical Solutions, QFix, PTW, Future Ukraine Ltd., USFA, The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR), ACPSEM (Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine), ASMIRT, Trinity College Dublin, Icon Group, and many Ukrainian and international cancer centers and experts, Help Ukraine Group (HUG) continues strengthening radiation oncology in Ukraine during wartime.

 Key Achievements Since 2022

  • Advocacy: 16 publications and 38 conference presentations globally
  • Hardware support: Disposable devices and essential equipment delivered to 10 cancer centers
  • Software support: Software and automation tools provided to 30 centers
  • Education and training:
    • 15 virtual + 25 on-site training courses
    • 68 international observerships for oncology professionals in US, Canada, Europe, Australia
  • Mentorship support: Mentorship from Australia for hospitals transitioning from Co-60 to contemporary linear accelerators
  • Conference: Full-day RO/MP/RTT program delivered with OncoHUB UpToDate conference

 HUG PLANS FOR 2026

  • Advocacy through high-impact publications and global oncology conferences
  • Deepened collaboration with with existing and emerging partners
  • Partnerships with vendors to expand access to modern radiotherapy equipment
  • Training courses and educational materials:
    • 3 virtual courses (Radiobiology course, BrachyTerra Cervical Cancer Brachytherapy course, RTT course)
    • 6 practical hands-on workshops on SBRT in Ukraine
    • 4 ESTRO courses in Europe on Brachytherapy and SBRT
    • ESTRO virtual contouring courses
    • Translation of essential oncology textbooks for MPs and RTTs
  • 52 observerships in Europe for Ukrainian RO/MP/RTT teams
  • 15 new research projects as part of ASTRO Research Methodology course
  • Australian mentorship program for centers transitioning from Co-60 to IMRT
