Naiba Nabieva, Adjunct Professor for Gynecology and Obstetrics at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, Global Medical Affairs Leader at AstraZeneca, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“For a few days, Chicago becomes the meeting point of the global fight against cancer.
In a couple of hours, McCormick Place will fill up with more than 40,000 scientists, physicians, and patient advocates from all over the world who all share a common goal.
A rare situation where everybody is at the same time in the same building.
International congresses like the ASCO annual meeting build literally a bridge to connect people from different continents, backgrounds, disciplines and sectors, creating a unique opportunity for sharing successes, failures, and challenges in cancer treatment.
After all, scientific progress is driven by communication and collaboration.
By the openness to listen to problems.
And the willingness to look for solutions together.
Let’s use this bridge to move another step closer to a world where cancer is no longer a cause of death.”
