Muna Al-Khaifi: The 1st Breast Cancer Survivorship and Supportive Care International Conference

Muna Al-Khaifi, Lead of Breast Cancer Survivorship Program and GP oncologist, Skin Cancer Clinic at Sunnybrook, shared a post on LinkedIn by Breast Cancer Survivorship and Supportive Care International Conference, adding:

“When I imagined this first International Breast Cancer Survivorship and Supportive Care International Conference, my vision was to bring researchers, clinicians, surgeons, medical oncologists, family physicians, radiation oncologists, learners and students, and allied health professionals together in one space – a space where ideas grow, collaborations form, and the future of survivorship is shaped.

What unfolded over these two days went far beyond my expectations.

We received over 70 abstract submissions, with many outstanding presentations delivered with clarity, confidence, and passion.

It was truly wonderful to meet the people behind this work – to talk with them, hear their ideas, and see the excitement in their eyes as they presented. Their passion, their curiosity, and their commitment to improving care were incredibly inspiring.

To everyone who submitted and presented: thank you. Your dedication forms the backbone of this conference and the future of our field.

And to our students and early-career researchers – I am especially proud of you. Your energy, enthusiasm, and drive give me so much hope for what lies ahead.

This community is growing, evolving, and already making an impact.

I cannot wait to see where we go next!”

Quoting Breast Cancer Survivorship and Supportive Care International Conference’s post:

“One of today’s highlights was seeing the incredible poster presentations from students, trainees, and early-career researchers across the cancer survivorship and supportive-care space. The energy, innovation, and curiosity they brought to the conference were truly inspiring.

From patient-reported outcomes and digital health tools to psychosocial interventions and rehabilitation research, each poster reflected the dedication of emerging leaders committed to advancing evidence-based, patient-centred care.

It was a privilege to learn from their work, exchange ideas, and see firsthand how the next generation of researchers is shaping the future of survivorship care. Their contributions continue to strengthen our collective understanding and push the field forward.

Conference Chair: Dr. Muna Al-Khaifi.”
