From Misdiagnoses and Delays to Urgency, Clarity and Humanity in Cancer Care – Mount Sinai Medical Center

Mount Sinai Medical Center shared a post on LinkedIn:

“After a series of misdiagnoses and delays elsewhere, a CT scan performed on Mount Sinai patient, Dinorah Roqueta, revealed a lung lesion. Dinorah was then referred to Dr. Roy F. Williams, the Chief of Thoracic Surgery, who quickly coordinated next steps and scheduled her procedure within days.

That procedure confirmed an ovarian cancer diagnosis, and Dinorah was immediately connected with Dr. Brian Slomovitz, the Director of Gynecologic Oncology, who told her,

‘We’re your oncologist now. We’re going to take care of you.’

From expedited care coordination to moments of compassion from every member of her care team, Dinorah describes an experience defined by urgency, clarity, and humanity—one that put her on a faster path to treatment.

Read more about Dinorah’s cancer story.”
