Morgan Levy, PGY2 Radiation Oncology Resident, Communications Chair at SWRO, ASTRO25 Social Champion, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Would oncologists prescribe hormonal therapy after chemoradiotherapy for cervical cancer?
Out today in JAMA Network Open, our survey through Society of Gynecologic Oncology and American Brachytherapy Society found that 93% of oncology clinicians would prescribe hormonal therapy but face barriers to implementation in practice.
We need to continue work to increase clinician comfort with prescribing and address barriers. Although evidence suggests that HT is safe for these patients, a gap exists between knowledge and practice leading to suboptimal survivorship care.
Thank you to my mentors Dr. Denise Fabian and Dr. Marilyn Huang who have supported this work, and the patients who share their lived experiences with treatment and survivorship that inspire me.”
