“Wrapping up an unforgettable week at ESMO25 in Berlin
The congress was a reminder of how fast oncology continues to evolve at an exponential pace. It was filled with powerful discussions, new data, and meaningful connections that fuel both curiosity and collaboration.
It was a privilege and honor to reconnect with my great mentors and doctors from Gustave Roussy International – Egypt — Dr Khaled Abdelaziz Kamal, Dr Nermean Mostafa and Dr Mohamed Kelaney — and to finally meet Dr Loay Kassem, whose insightful posts and work have long inspired many oncologists around the world including myself.
Gustave Roussy International – Egypt is truly a game changer for cancer care in Egypt. I’m grateful to call it my current home – a place where I learn, grow, and get inspired every single day. Special thanks to esteemed Dr. Ahmad Morsy for his continuous vision and leadership as Managing Director, motivating all of us to work toward a shared mission.
The Young Oncologists Group (YOG) sessions were another highlight — engaging, practical, and full of energy. They opened the door to meeting incredible people like Sergey Badalyan (Publishing Editor at OncoDaily ), Anna Terlecka, Paulina Kalman, Lynn Gottmann, Fabio Kolm, Khoren Amirkhanyan and many other colleagues that made this whole experience exceptional and reminded me with the importance of collaboration among oncologists beyond boarders.
Much appreciation to the ESMO Young Oncology Committee for building bridges between young oncologists worldwide and making these meetings possible.
Another highlight was attending AI and digital health sessions, especially the discussions on ChatGPT in cancer care moderated by Dr Jakob Nikolas Kather, which were among my personal favorites of the entire congress.
I was also happy to reconnect and exchange talks with my friends, Omar El Nahhas and Firas Khader, founders of StratifAI , whose ambitious work in precision oncology is shaping a new era for personalized cancer care.
I’m Leaving Berlin with renewed motivation, valuable insights, and deep gratitude for being part of a community that’s driving oncology forward.
See you next year!”
