Mohamed Belkadi: Honored to Participate in the Empowering Cancer Patient Voices in Jordan Workshop

Mohamed Belkadi, Administrative and Financial Director at Cancer…We Are All Concerned, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Honored to Participate in the ‘Empowering Cancer Patient Voices in Jordan’ Workshop at Amman – 30 November and 1 December 2025.

At the invitation of the World Health Organization Jordan Office, I had the privilege of taking part in this important regional workshop, which brought together civil society organizations, the Ministry of Health, and other government sectors, along with people with lived experience, to strengthen their role in supporting cancer patients

Day 1 – Speaker in the Session: Role of Civil Society and PWLE in Raising Community Awareness

The session was professionally moderated by:
Ms. Islam Qatamin– Jordan Ministry of Health
Dr. Heba AlSawahli – World Health Organization

I was honored to share the panel with distinguished speakers:
Dr. Ibtihal Fadhil – EM NCD Alliance
Dr. Hanaa Serry – Baheya Foundation
Dr. Reem Al-Ajlouni – Jordan Breast Cancer Program
Dr. Rana Ghafary – King Hussein Cancer Foundation
Mrs. Yara Mansour – Hareer Organization
Mrs. Nancy Najdawi – Lived Experience Advocate

My intervention focused on the importance of organization, planning, structured governance, and clear roles within CSOs, as key elements to improving service quality and amplifying the impact of civil society for cancer patients.

Day 2 – Facilitating a Practical Working Session:

On the second day, I facilitated a collaborative workshop aimed at developing an initial roadmap for establishing a national network of cancer-support organizations in Jordan.

Participants worked in groups on four core components:
Shared vision – Roles and responsibilities – Proposed structure – First-year roadmap.

The session was rich in constructive dialogue, positive energy, and genuine collaboration.

My sincere thanks to WHO Jordan and the Ministry of Health for the invitation and trust, and special thanks to Dr. Heba AlSawahli and Dr. Dana Darwish for their remarkable support, as well as to all speakers and participants for their inspiring contributions.

Together, we can strengthen patient voices and build a more effective and compassionate support ecosystem.”
