Mohamed Abdelaziz, Radiation Oncology Specialist at Police Academy Hospital and National Oncology Committee Member at the Ministry of Health and Population of Egypt, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“As part of the second launch wave of the Presidential Women’s Health Initiative training program, I was honored to participate as a guest speaker at Kafr El Sheikh Oncology Center.
During this event, we celebrated several historic milestones for cancer care in Egypt:
- The first public reimbursement in Egypt for immunotherapy (pembrolizumab) in the neoadjuvant treatment of triple-negative breast cancer.
- The first public reimbursement for gene-targeted therapy (olaparib) in the adjuvant treatment of BRCA-mutated triple-negative breast cancer.
These achievements represent a major step forward in ensuring equitable, universal access to advanced cancer therapies for every Egyptian woman, regardless of socioeconomic status or geographic location.
I was also deeply impressed by Kafr El Sheikh Oncology Center – a highly organized institution with well-trained medical staff, state-of-the-art radiotherapy technology, a well-established infusion unit, and comprehensive palliative care services.
Proud to witness and contribute to these national milestones in Egyptian oncology care.”
