Miriam Mutebi: Honored to be Named One of the 100 Most Influential People in Oncology in 2025 by OncoDaily

Miriam Mutebi, Breast Surgical Oncologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Aga Khan University Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I’m deeply honored to be named one of the 100 Most Influential People in Oncology in 2025 by OncoDaily.

This recognition is about the work we’re collectively building across Africa:

Closing the cancer care gap, making cervical cancer elimination a reality, and ensuring that women’s health and cancer control and management for our populations isn’t an afterthought but a priority.

It’s about the healthcare teams who stay late into the night innovating and brainstorming strategies to ensure better care delivery.

The patient navigators in Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, and beyond who make care accessible. The researchers, advocates, and policymakers who refuse to accept that preventable cancers should still be killing our women.

I share this honor with every clinician, every person with lived experience, every advocate fighting for better systems.

The work continues. The gaps remain wide. But moments like this remind me we’re moving in the right direction, together.

Thank you to OncoDaily for this recognition, and to everyone who has supported, challenged, and collaborated with me along this journey.

Congratulations to all my fellow awardees.

Let’s keep building.”
