Mike Kinnaird, Content Producer at Cancer Can Do One Podcast, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I’ve been expanding my thinking again…something shifted for me when I wrote the piece about ‘funding what you can photograph,’ in the cancer story.
I started out frustrated. The funding numbers, the gap between what gets acknowledged and what gets resourced. You’ve probably seen me write about that.
But then I stopped and thought about the people inside the system. The clinician who already knows. The nurse is doing emotional support work because there’s nobody else.
The charity worker with the bucket collection trying to plug a gap that should never have been left open.
They’re not the problem. They’re living it too. So who is deciding? And what would it actually take to change?
So … write it out properly, I thought. It’s horribly complicated.
Link is here if you want to read it. Yes, I am biased but I think you should.”
