Mieke Van Hemelrijck, Professor of Cancer Epidemiology at King’s College London, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“From Copenhagen to London in two days!
Even though Jasmine Handford presented our work on OMOP-ing the EORTC – European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer QoL questionnaires at the EORTC QoL Group meeting in Copenhagen, today she’s in London showcasing how we’re applying OMOP for Cancer Research UK (CRUK)-funded data as part of the CRUK Data Strategy.
Common Data Models like OMOP are transforming collaborative, data-driven cancer research – enabling interoperability, scalability, and deeper insights across studies and institutions.
And let’s not forget the patient voice: PROMs (Patient-Reported Outcome Measures) are essential for understanding the lived experience of cancer. Integrating these into OMOP ensures that patient perspectives are not just heard, but actionable.
Huge thanks to Jasmine for championing this work across borders — and to all collaborators pushing the boundaries of cancer data science!”
