Michiel van der Heijden, Medical Oncologist at The Netherlands Cancer Institute, shared on LinkedIn:
“Just left IFEMA, incredibly excited and inspired about all the amazing work.
Technological advances that I was sceptical would work in patients are now producing real clinical benefit, such as T-cell engagers, RIPTAC, mRNA vaccines and so much more!
Also very grateful to be back at the presidential stage in Madrid with Tom Powles, discussing yet another well-designed positive trial in bladder cancer, VOLGA.
Even though the stakes are incredibly high, it is the strength of our community that we trust individual clinician-scientist, such as myself, to give our honest assessment without interference.
So thank you for the trust of the ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology scientific chairs Yelena Janjigian and James Larkin and president Fabrice Andre and all their work to build this amazing program. And thanks to my colleagues for a great time!”
