Michelle Mitchell, Chief Executive at Cancer Research UK (CRUK), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today, we’re recognising the power of the unlikeliest athletes – the ‘athleasts” – with Race for Life events set to begin across the UK this May. We want to challenge the idea that you need to be an ‘athlete’ to take part and recognise the power of the millions who don’t see themselves that way.
Race for Life has always been about collective action. Fundraising and taking part by walking, jogging or running can help fund the research that saves lives.
We’re grateful to Dame Kelly Holmes, Poppy O’Toole, Garron Noone and Rox Hoyle for helping us show that everyone has a role to play in beating cancer.”
