Michele Milella Discusses Targeted Intratumoural Radiotherapy in Pancreatic Cancer – ecancer

ecancer, shared on LinkedIn:

“Targeted intratumoural radiotherapy combined with systemic chemotherapy could offer a new approach for unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer.

In this ecancer interview from ESMOGI26, Dr Michele Milella (Università degli Studi di Verona) discusses results from an open-label, multi-centre, randomised study evaluating the addition of targeted intratumoural phosphorus-32 microparticles to FOLFIRINOX (FFX) in patients with unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer.

The microparticles deliver targeted beta radiation directly to the tumour, aiming to improve local disease control while maintaining an acceptable safety profile.

These results support further investigation of targeted intratumoural radiotherapy alongside FOLFIRINOX to define its potential role in improving outcomes for patients with this challenging disease.

Watch the full interview with Dr Michele Milella.”
