Michael Sapienza, Chief Executive Officer of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The Asal Sayas National Strategy on Young Adult Cancers Act is officially introduced – and the cancer community is showing up.
More than 30 organizations have already endorsed this legislation, including the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. From LUNGevity Foundation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to Young Survival Coalition (YSC) to ZERO Prostate Cancer – this coalition spans cancer types, communities, and causes. Because rising cancer rates in young adults aren’t one disease’s problem. They’re everyone’s problem.
The bill directs NIH to develop the first-ever national strategy on young adult cancers – covering education, research, screening access, and a network of Centers of Excellence. It also establishes a Federal Coordinating Committee bringing together more than 20 agencies to drive real, accountable progress.
This is what united advocacy looks like. We’re proud to stand alongside every organization working to make this law – and we’re just getting started.
