Michael Sapienza: When Local Leadership Meets Personal Purpose, Real Change Follows

Michael Sapienza, Chief Executive Officer of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, shared a post on LinkedIn:

When local leadership meets personal purpose, real change follows.

Jennifer Rosenblatt, Rosenblatt, Regional Director of Community Fundraising at the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, is committed to making a difference with volunteers who are passionate about the cause.

She was recently featured in the Brooklyn Reporter Reporter for working alongside passionate allies including Dr. Kayane Hanna-Hindy who hosted an End Colon Cancer Coast to Coast DIY event in Bay Ridge, NY, to benefit the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.

Dr. Kayane Hanna-Hindy and Jennifer’s leadership reflect what makes community fundraising so effective. It is personal, it is scalable, and it meets people where they are. The Bay Ridge Colorectal Cancer Walk is a strong example of how grassroots efforts can mobilize communities, raise critical funds, and elevate awareness to make an impact.

Colorectal cancer remains one of the deadliest cancers. Closing that gap requires community activation, trusted voices, and sustained visibility.
That is where DIY fundraising plays a critical role.

Through End Colon Cancer Coast to Coast events, the Alliance is equipping individuals to be the power that creates change. Whether it is a walk, a small gathering, or a personal milestone event, these efforts compound. They build momentum, expand reach, and directly support research, patients and families navigating this disease.

If you are looking for a tangible way to contribute, consider hosting your own DIY event in support of the Alliance’s mission to end colorectal cancer. Learn more: colorectalcancer.org/diy
