Michael Sapienza: Pivotal Year in the Fight to End Colorectal Cancer
Michael Sapienza, Chief Executive Officer of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s 2024 Annual Report reflects a pivotal year in our mission to end colorectal cancer, a disease that affects millions of Americans and their families.
In 2024 the Alliance advanced its mission through bold action and strategic investment:
- $10.5 million awarded to accelerate innovative research and treatments
- 22 researchers funded by Project Cure CRC
- 552 patients awarded Blue Hope Financial Assistant grants
- 13K+ participants in the Walk to End Colon Cancer across 16 cities
- 21K+ completions of the screening quiz
- 20K+ patients assisted through live or clinical navigation, identifying 45,000 barriers to care
Because of our allies and partners’ support in 2024, more patients found help, more families felt supported, and more research is moving us closer to a world free of colorectal cancer.
The Colorectal Cancer Alliance will continue to lead with vision and determination until this disease is no longer a threat to future generations.
