Michael McNeil, Director of the St. Jude Global Palliative Care Program, shared on LinkedIn:
“This week as I train for the St. Jude Half Marathon, I am highlighting another of my colleagues I work with at St. Jude Global.
Daniel Moreira is a pediatric oncologist and Director of the St. Jude Global Professional Education Program and Co-Director of the Neuro-Oncology program. Clinically, Dr. Moreira is a neuro-oncologist who provides exceptional care for his patients with brain tumors and their families. Additionally, Dr. Moreira’s research defines educational priorities for multidisciplinary teams providing pediatric cancer care. He and his team identify the most effective strategies to train pediatric oncology providers, especially those in low- and middle-income countries, and develop interventions that increase access to care.
I have worked closely with Daniel on a host of educational initiatives for pediatric palliative care and he has been a wonderful colleague and collaborator. He is intentional and thoughtful in every decision and wherever you go in the world, there have been literally thousands of healthcare professionals who have benefited from the foundational work of Dr. Moreira. His work is transforming the landscape of the pediatric oncology workforce globally.
If able, please consider donating to my fundraiser for the St. Jude Half Marathon so that Dr. Moreira and other amazing researchers can continue their incredible clinical work and research.
Please find the fundraising link below in the comments.”
