“This week as I train for the St. Jude Half Marathon, I am highlighting another of my colleagues I work with at St. Jude Global.
Dylan Graetz is an incredible researcher, collaborator, and friend. As a Solid Tumor Oncologist who specializes in kidney tumors, she takes exceptional care of her patients and their families.
As a researcher she is an expert in qualitative and mixed methods where she takes stories and narratives and studies them to better understand the patient and family experience.
Her research in effective communication has helped us understand how we talk with our patients and families to not only share information but to improve outcomes.
She also has done incredible work studying stigma associated with cancer in different cultures and contexts around the world to identify ways to reduce that stigma and ensure that every child everywhere gets access to high-quality cancer care.
She is also just an awesome colleague and friend who I come to regularly regarding clinical or research questions and I know that she will always have the time to chat and help find solutions to whatever challenges I might face.
