Melissa Kotte: ‘Nailed’ My Doctoral Thesis on Reaching Cancer Survivors Where They Are

Melissa Kotte, PHD Student at Karolinska Institutet, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Today I had the honour of ‘nailing’ my doctoral thesis – a Swedish academic tradition that marks the official countdown to the public defence.

This moment feels both surreal and meaningful. The journey here has been many things: challenging, rewarding, stressful, fun – and above all, deeply enriching.

My thesis, ‘Reaching cancer survivors where they are: effects and experiences of live-remote exercise’, will be publicly defended on the 24th October 2025 at 09:00, and I look forward to sharing this important moment with many of you, whether in person or online.

A heartfelt thank you to my supervisors for their guidance and support throughout this journey – I could not have reached this milestone without you Yvonne Wengström, Renske Altena Kornalijnslijper.”
