Melanoma Institute Australia shared on X:
“An update from Prof Georgina Long in Perugia, Italy.
International collaboration has long been central to progress in melanoma research, and over the next couple of months, Prof Georgina Long AO is in Europe working with leading cancer research and treatment centres.
Prof Long was honoured to speak at the University of Perugia, at the invitation of her colleague Prof Mario Mandalà, about neoadjuvant immunotherapy and our fast-track approach to finding experimental drug therapies for patients in the ‘Third Space’ – those resistant to standard treatment. An excellent opportunity to share this work and connect with colleagues striving towards the same goal.
She also had the privilege of visiting the library in the Rectory and being shown original 1500s books by the extraordinary anatomist Andreas Vesalius. A remarkable moment of history alongside the science.
