Medicines Patent Pool Welcomes The Updated World Health Organization Model Lists Of EML and EMLc
Medicines Patent Pool shared a post on LinkedIn:
“MPP welcomes the updated World Health Organization Model Lists of Essential Medicines (EML) and Essential Medicines for Children (EMLc)
The updated World Health Organization EML and EMLc include some new, and still patented, therapies for high burden diseases such as cancer, cystic fibrosis, paediatric HIV, and diabetes with obesity—highlighting urgent global health needs.
At MPP, we remain committed to enabling access to essential medicines through voluntary licensing, technology transfer, and manufacturing support.
We will continue to support the uptake of the newly listed generic pediatric fixed-dose combination of abacavir plus dolutegravir plus lamivudine (pALD), while exploring ways to expand access to immune checkpoint inhibitors for patients with cervical, lung, and colorectal cancers, as well as GLP-1–based therapies for patients affected by type 2 diabetes and obesity.
