Medicaid Cancer Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Cervical cancer is a cancer that develops in the cervix, the lower part of the uterus. It is most commonly caused by long-term infection with high-risk Human Papillomavirus (HPV).
The good news? Cervical cancer is preventable and treatable when detected early.
Women are at higher risk if they:
- Have not received the HPV vaccine
- Do not go for regular cervical screening
- Have a weakened immune system
- Are exposed to HPV over time
Knowing the facts empowers women to take action, prioritize screening, and protect their health.
Get screened. Get vaccinated. Save a life — yours or another woman’s.”
