“Our Operations Director, Unekwu Hadiza A-Arome , represented Medicaid Cancer Foundation in Melbourne, Australia at the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit 2025. She also toured the Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium (MPCCC), along with other participants.
She interacted with old and new Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) members, as well as attended useful sessions. Some of these include scaling up HPV vaccination, lung cancer and many more. Significantly, we witnessed how Australia, a country with an indigenous population has been working on community focused interventions to close gaps in cancer and other diseases.
The insights gained from this visit will help us strengthen our patient navigation system, improve coordination, and ultimately support better survival outcomes.”
