“I had a great time chairing an incredible weekend at the 1st Annual Tri-State Kentucky Society of Clinical Oncology Meeting in Covington, KY!
A huge thank you to our outstanding faculty and everyone who attended to make this inaugural meeting such a success.
Highlights included:
- Dr. Lisa Larkin‘s powerful keynote on the history of menopausal care in the US and survivorship care after breast cancer.
- An engaging multidisciplinary tumor board with my St. Elizabeth Healthcare breast oncology team discussing the OPTIMA trial and the latest ASCO recommendations on omission of sentinel lymph node biopsy in appropriately selected women ≥50 years old and how we all feel incorporating this data in more complex scenarios like invasive lobular carcinomas.
- Excellent presentations from Diana Sutherland, Mollie Beck and Melvi Chacko, sharing practical updates that attendees can take directly back to their practices.
- A thought-provoking closing session by another national leader – Dr. Ishwaria Subbiah, challenging us to think about how AI is already reshaping oncology and our everyday clinical work.
Seeing physicians, APPs, pharmacists, nurses, and the entire oncology team learning together is exactly what this meeting was designed to achieve.
