“Workforce Is the New Growth Strategy.
Most oncology programs are still treating the workforce as an HR issue. It’s not. It’s a growth strategy issue.
Cancer-care demand is rising, treatments are becoming more complex, and many regions face shortages across the oncology care team. That means the programs that win will not simply recruit harder. They will redesign how work gets done.
The best oncology organizations are asking:
- Are physicians practicing at the top of their license?
- Are APPs integrated into the care model intentionally?
- Are navigators, pharmacists, nurses, and financial counselors part of the operating strategy?
- Are administrative tasks being removed from clinical teams?
Are EHR and prior authorization workflows helping-or draining-capacity?
Workforce strategy is no longer about ‘coverage‘ It’s about capacity, productivity, retention, and access.
If your oncology growth plan does not include a workforce redesign plan, it is incomplete.
Bottom line: You cannot scale oncology access without scaling the team model.
