New TIME Tool Introduces Standardized Assessment of Time Toxicity in Cancer Care – MASCC

The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“The new MASCC TIME Tool, developed by our Emerging Toxicities Study Group, is the first tool to provide a standardized assessment of time toxicity, defined as the time patients spend receiving cancer treatment and interacting with health care systems.

Time is increasingly recognized as a burden in and of itself, and therefore, a treatment-related harm. Quantifying this burden may inform patients, particularly during the consent process, and support the design of services that better meet patients’ needs during treatment.

Congratulations to Ronald Chow and co-authors on this important work.”
