Maryam Lustberg, Director Breast Center/Chief Breast Oncology at Yale University School of Medicine, shared ABC Global Alliance’s post on LinkedIn, adding:
“Impressive ABC Global Alliance meeting
- survival for MBC has improved in last decade but clearly more to be done (26% to 33% 5 year survival)
- several countries have begun to capture metastatic populations in registries — we still need to do this in USA
- The first mBC specific PRO tool is in development which is critically important since current PROs are not fully capturing experiences of advanced disease)as they were validated in early stages mostly.
- quality of life and supportive care access remains a key unmet need across the globe. Risk stratified triaged referrals to supportive care services needed.”
Quoting ABC Global Alliance’s post:
“Third presentation at the Session 2 at ABC8 focused on supportive care and oncological care.
Prof. Dr. Maryam Lustberg: ‘Multiple unmet needs remain. New therapies, new toxicities among limited referrals to supportive care services – including and beyond palliative care – are still limited.’
How are things going in your country regarding supportive care for advanced breast cancer patients?”
