Martin Harutyunyan: Blood Donation – A Quiet Tradition, A Lifesaving Act

Martin Harutyunyan, Medical Oncologist and Palliative Care Specialist, Director of OncoDaily LA, shared on LinkedIn:

“More than three months in LA, and I’ve kept one quiet tradition going: donating blood.

Back in Armenia, I donated over 27 times – often for my own patients or pediatric patients. It was never just a routine. It was part of showing up for people when they needed it most.

Now I continue with American Red Cross. Same mission, different zip code.

For patients, especially those in critical care or undergoing treatment, blood isn’t just helpful. It’s survival. And for donors, it’s 30 minutes that can change everything for someone else.

If you’re healthy and able, consider it. No fanfare, just real impact.”
