Marko Tarle: Long-Term Outcomes in Head and Neck Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma

Marko Tarle, Maxillofacial Surgeon at University Hospital “Dubrava” and Assistant at School of Dental Medicine University of Zagreb, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Excited to share our latest publication on head and neck adenoid cystic carcinoma, now published in the journal Cancers.

This study explores the very long-term course of this rare salivary gland malignancy, highlighting how the risk of recurrence and disease-related mortality can persist for decades after primary surgery. It is a reminder that, unlike many other cancers, patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma often require lifelong follow-up and careful long-term surveillance.

Grateful to have worked on this project with Ivica Luksic, Marina Raguž and Petar Suton.

The work reflects the experience of Dubrava University Hospital, the Reference Center of the Croatian Ministry of Health for salivary gland surgery, and our ongoing commitment to improving the understanding and treatment of rare head and neck cancers.”
