Mark Lewis: How the CHALLENGE Study Restores Agency to Colon Cancer Patients
Mark Lewis, Director of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Intermountain Healthcare in Utah, shared a post on X by NEJM, adding:
“I love how the CHALLENGE study can restore agency to patients after cancer has shifted their locus of control.
It’s not just vague advice to ‘be more fit’; it’s a specific, attainable increase in METs with a survival benefit on par with at least one of our adjuvant chemo drugs.”
Quoting NEJM‘s post:
“Could a structured exercise program after undergoing adjuvant chemotherapy for colon cancer improve survival and quality of life?
