Mark Lawler, Associate Director of Postgraduate Studies, Chair in Translational Cancer Genomics, and Professor of Digital Health at Queen’s University Belfast, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Delighted to be here at University of Lincoln with excellent colleague David Nelson as we launch PLACE (PLace-based Action for Cancer Equity) an exciting initiative that is part of the Lincoln Institute for Rural and Coastal Health (LIRCH).
For too long we have ignored the health inequities that people who live in rural or coastal regions face, with cancer a particular casualty.
Time to move the dial! We highlight the compelling need to both generate the intelligence required, but more importantly act on that evidence, to reverse the status quo, so that we enhance outcomes and deliver equity to rural and coastal communities.”
