“Very special day for me today – the sod-turning ceremony for Momentum One Zero our £70M Belfast Region City Deal Innovation Centre here at Queen’s University Belfast.
It’s been a real team effort to get us to this stage Stephen McCabe, David Quinn, Paul Miller, Dermot Leonard, Nigel Scollan, Harshal Patil, Michaela Fox, Paul Murnaghan and many others.
For me it’s definitely been somewhat of a rollercoaster – I was there from the very start of this venture as Health lead for the Centre; and I mean health in its broadest sense as you can see below
Its been very much an 8 year gestational Odyssey from hopeful pipe-dream to sod-turning reality – yes that’s how long it took!
But its all been worth it for landmark days like today.
And boy have we got momentum – a €9.85million PeacePlus early success –
An All-Island OneHealth Digital Hub – secure, connected and intelligent which we launched a couple of weeks ago.
Solving problems that really matter – soil to stomach, farm to fork, byte to bedside.
Exploiting the health dividend of digital while empowering the economic dividend of health.
A landmark day for Belfast City Council and for Queen’s University Belfast.
Upwards and onwards.”
