Mark Lawler: From Data to Policy – Supporting Right to Be Forgotten in Ireland

Mark Lawler, Associate Director of Postgraduate Studies, Chair in Translational Cancer Genomics, and Professor of Digital Health at Queen’s University Belfast, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Delighted to be part of the delegation with Catherine Ardagh TD and Steve Dempsey Irish Cancer Society to meet Minister Robert Troy and discuss introduction of Right To Be Forgotten into Irish law. Presented our data from across Europe to support a legal instrument to stop financial discrimination that was well received by the Minister and his team. Also highlighted our International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership (ICBP) work which strongly supports the introduction of the legislation. Emphasised the urgency of embedding RTBF into Irish law – watch this space – things are moving fast!”
