“Game changing research alert. A new blood test has been developed to track tumour progress in glioblastoma patients. Developed at the University of Queensland with our collaborators at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology by MHF Stream Leader Richard Lobb and Deputy Zhen Zhang and team, this work has opened a ‘window to the brain‘.
Developed in collaboration with researchers from the MHF Centre, the Phenotype Analyzer Chip was designed using patient samples from the MHF Brain Cancer Biobank, and with funding from the Mark Hughes Foundation Beanie for Brain Cancer.
‘We’re really proud to partner with the team at UQ and to have contributed funding and clinical material to this important project,’ MHF Centre Director Professor Mike Fay said.
‘A blood test for brain cancer will be a game-changer for patients, particularly those living in regional and remote areas.’ “
