“Sex during neutropenia? An overlooked topic in oncology practice at JCO Oncology Practice.
- Sexual health remains key for QoL No strong evidence for strict restrictions
- Avoid anal sex, new partners, severe mucositis
- Consider condoms briefly post-CT (drug exposure to the partner + contraception if pregnancy is possible)
Counseling should be individualized, not dogmatic!!
