Marielle Santos McLeod: Honored to Join the 2026 AACR Scientist Survivor Program

Marielle Santos McLeod, Director of Strategic Programs and Partnerships at Cancer Hope Network and Patient Research Advocate at the SWOG Cancer Research Network, shared a post on LinkedIn by Cancer Hope Network, adding:

“I’m incredibly honored and excited to share that I’ve been accepted into this year’s American Association for Cancer Research Scientist – Survivor Program.
Even more meaningful is the opportunity to present the impactful work being done at Cancer Hope Network.

On Monday, April 20th, I’ll be sharing our research on the power of one-to-one peer support and how our programming is improving psychosocial outcomes for cancer patients and their caregivers.

This experience is especially important to me as it provides a platform to highlight the compassionate, life-changing work our organization does every single day to improve the cancer experience.

I’m grateful to be part of a community so deeply committed to supporting patients and families when they need it most.
Looking forward to connecting, learning, and contributing to such an inspiring group.”

Quoting Cancer Hope Network’s post:

“We’re proud to share that Marielle Santos McLeod, MHA has been selected by the American Association for Cancer Research to represent Cancer Hope Network in the 2026 Scientist and Survivor Program, taking place April 17-22.

This experience brings together people who have lived through cancer with the researchers working to better understand and treat it, creating space for real conversations, shared perspectives, and deeper understanding on both sides.

For Marielle, it’s an opportunity to carry the voices and experiences of our community into a setting where they can truly be heard and where they can help shape what comes next in cancer research.

We’re honored to have her represent Cancer Hope Network in such a meaningful way.

To learn more about the program.”
