Mariana Stern: The 2026 AACR Cancer Disparities Progress Report Highlights Successes, Gaps, and a Call to Action

Mariana Stern, Vice-Chair of Culture and Engagement, Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, shared American Association for Cancer Research’s post on LinkedIn:

“This past year I had the honor of serving as the Chair for the 2026 American Association for Cancer Research Cancer Disparities Progress Report, working with Margaret Foti, the incredible AACR cancer reports staff led by Rajarshi S., and an amazing steering committee of cancer disparities expert scientists.

This report summarizes the state of cancer disparities in the US, highlighting successes, gaps of knowledge, trends, striking unaddressed disparities, and a Call to Action. Importantly, it includes testimonies from 10 diverse cancer survivors across the US, sharing their impactful stories of resilience and lessons learned. It has been an incredible honor and opportunity to lead this effort with such an amazing team!

On June 24 at 12pm ET, the report will be unveiled during a congressional briefing in the US Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. I will have the opportunity to provide remarks and share our key findings and our call to action.

Please, join us in person or virtually.

And stay tune for more information once the report is released!”
